World of Warcraft: Forever is planned as an ongoing game alongside modern and Classic WoW, with a level-60 journey through the original continents.[1]
Announced changes to know first
| Topic | Forever reference | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| World | New regions and more than 1,000 additional quests.[2] | Zones · Quests |
| Progression | Legacy supports repeated leveling; Camping adds shared outdoor stops.[2] | Legacy perks · Professions |
| Presentation | Optional transmog, Classic/modern visuals, and gamepad support.[2] | Revisit these settings when choosing how the game should look and play for you. |
| World rules | Flying mounts and level scaling are excluded from the announced design.[2] | Check a destination's access information before planning a route. |
| Character planning | Talent trees are revised; some previously talented buffs become baseline.[3] | Classes · Talents |
Why the familiar world can differ
Ion Hazzikostas described the challenge as reconciling different player expectations for an expanded original game. Holly Longdale highlighted experimentation over visual fidelity and character models.[4]
For a returning player, a useful first comparison is personal: identify the activities and settings you care about, then check those specific Forever references. Use Realmless rulesets for group planning, Transmogrification for appearance collection, and User interface and accessibility for display and controls.
Using an older guide
Treat a Classic guide as a list of questions to check. Before following it, compare the named ability, talent prerequisites, quest rewards, travel steps, and item requirements with a Forever source. A familiar name alone does not establish that its mechanics are unchanged.
For character planning, open the actual talent article and read its evidence label. Missing rank information is an unanswered question; extrapolating it can make a build look more certain than the available evidence allows.
For a group, agree on a small first-session objective rather than committing to a long farming schedule. Record any mismatch between a guide and the client with the build number and a screenshot. That gives the next reader something reproducible to check.

Evidence still needed
Build-specific comparisons of changed abilities; Verified settings locations; Reproducible examples of outdated route or reward advice
Record the Forever build, observation date, and a source or screenshot. Update the article and remove only the tasks your evidence resolves.
