Druid — The Druid preview combines spellcasting, healing, and form-specific melee tools. Its records mention Mana, Bear-form Rage, and Cat-form Energy and combo points; changing form is part of the resource discussion rather than only a visual change.[1]
Browse all 52 Druid talents with icons, ranks, prerequisites, and individual source notes.
Choose a reading path
The following is an editorial route through the preview, not a recommended point allocation.[1]
| Talent tree | What to compare | Start with |
|---|---|---|
| Balance | Nature and Arcane spell interactions plus Moonkin Form. Read which spell triggers a bonus and which spell benefits. | Balance of Nature, Nature's Grace, Eclipse, Moonkin Form |
| Feral Combat | Bear and Cat abilities within one tree. Some talents apply to both forms while others have form-specific effects. | Heart of the Wild, Thick Hide, Mangle, Natural Reaction, Berserk |
| Restoration | Healing, shapeshifting costs, and resource behavior across form changes. Furor deserves a separate reading from healing-throughput talents. | Furor, Natural Shapeshifter, Swiftmend, Wild Growth |
Abilities and changes worth checking
These are summarized from the pinned community demo transcription. Baseline spells and talents are identified separately where the source supports that distinction.[1]
- Omen of Clarity and Nature's Grasp. Recorded in the demo spellbook as trainable abilities rather than entries in the talent trees.
- Revive. The export records an out-of-combat resurrection separately from Rebirth. Their different restrictions matter when discussing recovery after a fight.
- Lacerate. The new-ability notes infer this Bear bleed from Shredding Attacks. Its absence from the level-38 spellbook does not establish a training level; treat acquisition as unresolved.
How the preview tools fit together
These examples interpret the pinned preview. Talent descriptions remain estimates unless a specific rank is labeled source-confirmed below; having text for every rank does not establish confirmation. The examples are provisional because unconfirmed conditions may change or have been transcribed incorrectly. Observed spellbook entries are identified separately, and the linked talent pages retain rank-level evidence.[1]
Balance: follow the spell that receives the benefit
Balance of Nature connects the Nature and Arcane schools: a cast from one school improves the next damaging spell from the other within its time window. Eclipse is more specific: Wrath supplies charges that shorten Starfire casts. These are separate effects, so an alternating-school bonus does not make every Nature spell an Eclipse trigger. Nature's Grace responds to non-periodic spell criticals and briefly improves casting speed and the global cooldown.[1]
Moonkin Form cannot cast healing spells in the recorded tooltip. Its party critical-chance aura is exclusive with Leader of the Pack. When organizing a group, distinguish an aura's coverage from the Druid's ability to leave form and heal; having both auras available does not establish that their bonuses add together.[1]
Feral: separate Bear and Cat decisions
The unconfirmed Mangle description in this snapshot requires Bear or Dire Bear Form. Berserk changes Mangle's target count and cooldown and also improves combo-point generators; the form requirements determine which part would be useful. Cat players can examine the observed Tiger's Fury spellbook entry alongside the estimated King of the Jungle talent description. These descriptions do not establish a Cat version of Mangle.[1]
At source-confirmed rank 5, Furor preserves the Energy held on leaving Cat Form, adds 10 Energy for each second outside Bear, Dire Bear, and Cat forms, and caps the return at 100. For example, leaving with 30 Energy and spending two seconds outside those forms describes 50 Energy on return, before any other effects are considered. This is a tooltip-based illustration, not an in-game measurement or proof of the best way to spend those two seconds.[1]
Restoration: distinguish recovery from group coverage
Swiftmend requires an existing Rejuvenation or Regrowth effect on its target. Wild Growth instead heals the chosen target and that target's nearby party over time, with more healing early in the effect. The recorded party restriction matters in a raid: it is not an unrestricted raid-wide heal. Gift of the Earthmother reduces the global cooldown of Rejuvenation, Swiftmend, and Wild Growth, rather than every healing spell.[1]
The demo Omen of Clarity description allows a free eligible damage or healing action, but specifically says Wrath and actions already costing no resources do not consume Clearcasting. Inspect the proc before selecting a spell solely to spend it.[1]
Reading other Druid guides
Icy Veins usefully highlights linked spell effects and party healing. Its powershifting discussion is internally inconsistent: the Furor explanation and conclusion say extra Energy is removed, while its future-changes section says powershifting can add Energy. Treat that conflict as unresolved gameplay guidance.[2]
Plan a first beta session
These are suggested checks for learning the class and collecting useful evidence; they are not claims about the strongest build.
- For Feral, label each observation Bear or Cat and note which form-specific conditions apply.
- For Furor, record the resource before leaving a form, time spent outside it, and resource on returning; a single screenshot cannot establish the whole rule.
- For Restoration, separate a heal’s initial effect from its later ticks when comparing target patterns and timing.
Race choice
Use the Druid race list to separate officially announced additions from the broader preview roster. Follow the linked race guides for recorded racials; a racial tooltip does not establish a universal best choice.
What remains unresolved
This guide does not establish a final powershifting routine, tank-versus-melee gear ranking, healing throughput, or a complete trainer progression. Form-specific interactions need tests in one recorded build. The retained Frenzied Regeneration spell record is labeled Classic data; it cannot verify Forever's healing formula. Claims about that formula need a Forever tooltip or test rather than the fallback record.[1]
For corrections, record the game build, character level, spell or talent rank, and the observed interaction. Follow Project:Data policy and compare against Druid talents before replacing preview information.
