Druid — The Druid beta combines spellcasting, healing, and form-specific melee tools. Its records mention Mana, Bear-form Rage, and Cat-form Energy and combo points; changing form is part of the resource discussion rather than only a visual change.[1]
Browse all 52 active Druid talents with icons, ranks, prerequisites, and individual source notes.
For source-listed learning levels 1–20, see Druid spellbook. Its tables exclude Classic fallback tooltips and explain the source’s level-60 tooltip context.
October 9 talent and spellbook review
The export generated 8 October identifies the talent trees and current class spellbooks as build 70291. This is a source refresh; it does not date every game change or independently test the effects.[2]
- Natural Instinct replaces Predatory Instincts at row 5, column 4 of Feral Combat. Its two ranks retain a 10/20% increase to the critical-strike damage bonus of melee abilities and add spell healing equal to 12/25% of Intellect. The previous name remains a historical record.
- Furor clarifies Bear-form Energy handling. Entering Bear or Dire Bear Form forfeits saved Energy and pauses its restoration while in those forms. Read the current rank text before using the older powershifting example below.
- Druid spellbook now uses the same 70291 source and includes changed early-rank Wrath and Thorns text. Its displayed values retain the source's level-60, no-gear context.[2]
October 8 record review
The pinned export was generated 7 October. Differences below compare it with the previous wiki snapshot; the review date is not a game-patch date.[3]
- Shifting Power converts 55% base Mana into 40 Energy in Cat Form; Improved Shifting Power reduces its 16-second cooldown by 4/8 seconds. King of the Jungle is retained as a historical page.
- Feral Charge now separates Bear and Cat descriptions: the Cat leap lists a 30-second cooldown; the Bear charge lists 15 seconds. Primal Bite explicitly generates high threat.
- Druid spellbook excludes quest-acquired entries from its trainer-style selection. An entry leaving that table does not establish that the ability was removed from the game.[3]
Use Druid talents for current ranks and prerequisites and Druid spellbook for the bounded spell selection.
Earlier guide snapshot
The following sections were last reviewed on 2026-09-29. Their original citations and observations remain historical context; the update above and individual record pages identify later differences.
Choose a reading path
The following is an editorial route through the beta source, not a recommended point allocation.[1]
| Talent tree | What to compare | Start with |
|---|---|---|
| Balance | Nature and Arcane spell interactions plus Moonkin Form. Read which spell triggers a bonus and which spell benefits. | Nature's Grace, Eclipse, Moonkin Form |
| Feral Combat | Bear and Cat abilities within one tree. Some talents apply to both forms while others have form-specific effects. | Heart of the Wild, Thick Hide, Primal Bite, Blood Frenzy, Natural Reaction, Berserk |
| Restoration | Healing, shapeshifting costs, and resource behavior across form changes. Furor deserves a separate reading from healing-throughput talents. | Furor, Natural Shapeshifter, Swiftmend, Wild Growth |
Abilities and changes worth checking
These are summarized from the pinned beta-client export. Baseline spells and talents are identified separately where the source supports that distinction.[1]
- Omen of Clarity and Nature's Grasp. Present in the beta spell records as trainable abilities rather than entries in the talent trees.
- Revive. The export records an out-of-combat resurrection separately from Rebirth. Their different restrictions matter when discussing recovery after a fight.
- Lacerate. Its beta spell record supplies Bear-form bleed text and a level-42 acquisition entry. This replaces the earlier inference from Shredding Attacks; the wiki has not independently visited the trainer.[1]
How the beta tools fit together
These examples interpret source-reported beta-client descriptions. All talent ranks in this snapshot are explicitly flagged as client data; this is stronger evidence than the earlier estimated demo ranks, but does not establish tested gameplay. Damage shown by the export can depend on its reference character. See individual talent pages for exact ranks and conditions.[1]
Balance: follow the spell that receives the benefit
Balance of Nature is absent from the beta source tree and remains on this wiki as a historical demo record. Eclipse remains: Wrath grants charges that shorten Starfire casts. Nature's Grace responds to non-periodic spell criticals and briefly improves casting speed and the global cooldown. This beta tree therefore does not include the old alternating-school damage talent.[1]
Moonkin Form cannot cast healing spells in the recorded tooltip. The beta tooltip also doubles Omen of Clarity's trigger chance in Moonkin Form. Its party critical-chance aura is exclusive with Leader of the Pack. When organizing a group, distinguish an aura's coverage from the Druid's ability to leave form and heal; having both auras available does not establish that their bonuses add together.[1]
Feral: separate Bear and Cat decisions
In the build 70009 export, Primal Bite replaces the name Mangle and Blood Frenzy replaces Primal Fury. Primal Bite requires Bear or Dire Bear Form, costs 20 Rage and has a six-second cooldown. Berserk now names Primal Bite in its multi-target and cooldown effects. Blood Frenzy retains separate Bear Rage and Cat combo-point critical-strike effects; its Cat trigger excludes periodic criticals. Neither rename establishes a Cat version of Primal Bite.[4]
At source-confirmed rank 5, Furor preserves the Energy held on leaving Cat Form, adds 10 Energy for each second outside Bear, Dire Bear, and Cat forms, and caps the return at 100. For example, leaving with 30 Energy and spending two seconds outside those forms describes 50 Energy on return, before any other effects are considered. This is a tooltip-based illustration, not an in-game measurement or proof of the best way to spend those two seconds.[1]
Restoration: distinguish recovery from group coverage
Swiftmend requires an existing Rejuvenation or Regrowth effect on its target. Wild Growth instead heals the chosen target and that target's nearby party over time, with more healing early in the effect. The recorded party restriction matters in a raid: it is not an unrestricted raid-wide heal. Gift of the Earthmother reduces the global cooldown of Rejuvenation, Swiftmend, and Wild Growth, rather than every healing spell.[1]
The beta-client Omen of Clarity description allows a free eligible damage or healing action, but specifically says Wrath and actions already costing no resources do not consume Clearcasting. Inspect the proc before selecting a spell solely to spend it.[1]
Consumables in Bear Form
Wowhead's written Forever beta report describes using a Minor Troll's Blood Elixir during combat without leaving Bear Form, and reports that Rage Potion is also usable in combat in that form. Treat these as specific reported examples: this source does not establish that every consumable works in every shapeshift form, and the wiki has not independently tested them.[5]
Reading other Druid guides
Icy Veins usefully highlights linked spell effects and party healing. Its powershifting discussion is internally inconsistent: the Furor explanation and conclusion say extra Energy is removed, while its future-changes section says powershifting can add Energy. Treat that conflict as unresolved gameplay guidance.[6]
Plan a beta test
Beta issue: Bear Form improperly multiplies armor bonuses from buffs and consumables.[7]
These are suggested checks for learning the class and collecting useful evidence; they are not claims about the strongest build.
- For Feral, label each observation Bear or Cat and note which form-specific conditions apply.
- For Furor, record the resource before leaving a form, time spent outside it, and resource on returning; a single screenshot cannot establish the whole rule.
- For Restoration, separate a heal’s initial effect from its later ticks when comparing target patterns and timing.
Race choice
Use the Druid race list to separate officially announced additions from the broader beta roster. Follow the linked race guides for recorded racials; a racial tooltip does not establish a universal best choice.
What remains unresolved
This guide does not establish a final powershifting routine, tank-versus-melee gear ranking, healing throughput, or a complete trainer progression. Form-specific interactions need tests in one recorded build. Frenzied Regeneration now has a beta-client record describing 1% health per Rage converted, replacing the old Classic fallback. That establishes the source formula, not a measured healing result.[1]
For corrections, record the game build, character level, spell or talent rank, and the observed interaction. Follow Project:Data policy and compare against Druid talents before replacing beta information.
