City of Dalaran — announced levels 28–33.[1] The announced adventure concerns magical disturbances in Dalaran.[2]

Related quest and reward references

An Alarming Request records the approach step for the Modera quest sequence. Heart of Disruption, Starving Arcane, Power Overwhelming, The Grave Knight and A Green Sample link their individually checked equipment rewards. Quest variants and reward locations remain distinguished in those articles.

Before you go

Start with access notes, then match your Heart of Disruption variant and review other objectives. Dungeon checklists offers a preparation list. Historical client names below are kept separate from current written-guide advice.

Availability

Blizzard opened City of Dalaran for testing on October 8.[3] See Beta update (October 8, 2026) and Beta guide. The announced level band remains separate from a verified minimum entry requirement.

Setting and access

Blood in the Streets directs the approach along Lordamere Lake and provides Grimy Key. The two Heart of Disruption variants provide Dalaran Sewer Key; their pages preserve the different recipients and rewards. These original quest fields establish preparation without proving every access condition.

The guide reports that one key holder can open the Horde gate.[4] Exact entrance coordinates and Alliance transport conditions have not been independently established in this review. The guide's access table mixes pickup and recipient roles; the original quest records take precedence for the fields they actually display.

Beta client evidence

The dungeon is map 2959, with a five-player difficulty record (5923). A separate map named Dalaran City (2980) must not be treated as this instance.[5][6] The instance’s area records include Fel Grove (16559).[7] These records do not locate the entrance or prove that the dungeon is open on a beta realm.

Encounter preparation

Each article separates its short written-guide preparation from independently checked Forever spell tooltips, client identity and item drop records. Capture builds remain unreported for rendered database pages.

For common enemies, see Mana Phantom, Angry Tome, Saturated Remnant, Seeking Remnant and Mana Echo. The last three have separate Starving Arcane kill counters.

Quest preparation

Read the individual records before entering; the following grouped references are not one combined chain or a claim that every quest is required.

Purpose Linked records
Approach and key research Prison Break In → Dalaran Patrols (displayed series); Key to the City; Blood in the Streets
Mote variants and follow-ups Heart of Disruption (96984) → Shrewd Negotiations; An Alarming Request → Heart of Disruption (92458) → Friend of the Kirin Tor
Boss and kill objectives The Grave Knight; Power Overwhelming; Starving Arcane
Collection objectives Opportunistic Education; Source of Power; A Green Sample

The articles link the documented equipment choices. Quest rewards remain distinct from boss drops below. Dalaran Patrols uses the original eight-slave counter; Power Overwhelming preserves Mana Elemental versus Arcanic Enigma labels.

Historical client encounter names

The client associates these names with map 2959; the current-build check below preserves their historical identity.[8] They are research leads, not a tested route or a statement that every encounter is mandatory. Mechanics, optional-event conditions and drops need separate evidence.

Client encounter name Record ID
Arcane Anomaly 3298
Fel Ancient 3299
Mana Devourer 3300
Mana Elemental 3301
Unstable Sentinel 3302
Shade of the Archmage 3303
Lyn the Ignored 3310
Atrexis the Grave Knight 3311
Mana Wraith 3312

Legacy connection

The client places this dungeon under Experienced Spelunker in the Legacy completion criteria (row 230769).[9] Completion rewards and availability should be checked in the active build.

Database-listed boss drops

The equipment below has an individually inspected Forever tooltip and a named drop source. These are database associations, not a wiki-measured loot log. Equipping levels are kept separate from the announced dungeon level band.

Listed source Equipment
Atrexis the Grave Knight Graveweave Bindings · Bonebinder's Signet · Gravespike Repeater
Arcane Anomaly Ephemeral Grips · Runemender's Seal · Mana-Warped Chain Shirt
Arcanic Enigma Violet Sorcerer's Robes · Drape of Shifting Energy · Wand of Mana Concentration
Unstable Sentinel Guardian's Dualblade · Unstable Crystalline Shoulderpads · Refractory Scaleguards
Mana Devourer Slitherwrap Girdle · Manascale Treads · Spine of the Devourer
Fel Ancient Felbough Arm · Garb of Fallen Felbark · Blightleaf Rope
Lyn the Ignored Cartilage Shapers · Bonepile Gaze · Tendonscraper Dagger
Shade of the Archmage Archmagister's Faceted Pendant · Violet Sorcerer's Mantle · Ponderous Orb

Spinning Wheel blueprint independently lists Unstable Sentinel as its source. Arcane Salvager blueprint records its tooltip and the unresolved boss association. See Dungeon loot and Equipment sources for the broader acquisition lists.

Client check: 10 October 2026

The archived 1.60.1.70291 export still pairs map 2959 with five-player difficulty rows 5923 and 6340.[10] Its nine encounter rows retain the historical names above, including Mana Elemental and Mana Wraith.[11] The separately named map 2980 remains Dalaran City, not this dungeon. Internal difficulty and ordering fields do not establish playable modes or a required route.

Evidence still needed

Build-tagged entrance and access tests; Required encounter route; Loot eligibility and drop observations; Quest acceptance conditions

Unresolved source conflict: Power Overwhelming prose says Mana Elemental; its linked objective and the written guide name Arcanic Enigma.

Record the Forever build, observation date, and a source or screenshot. Update the article and remove only the tasks your evidence resolves.

Sources and scope

The level band comes from Blizzard’s announcement. Client records are from the Forever beta build stated above; a record’s presence does not demonstrate live availability. No entrance, strategy, drop rate or quest chain is inferred from another WoW edition.
