Reviewed 17 September 2026. This page separates developer descriptions from proposed features. It is not a tested compatibility list for add-ons, controllers, or handhelds.

Interface and display

Josh Greenfield described a built-in damage meter and flexible UI customization. A cooldown manager was planned, but he was unsure it would be in beta. Jeff Parrott said SD/HD character settings also affect other characters and NPCs.[1]

Transmogrification addresses appearance choices separately. When recording a display problem, include both appearance settings and character-model settings so contributors can reproduce what was visible.

Lighting

Ion Hazzikostas explained that Forever's lighting changes include artists' work across the zones, alongside engine improvements; he highlighted torch- and lantern-lit patrols in Duskwood.[2]

For a helpful comparison, capture the same position, view direction, time of day, and display settings. Describe readability problems in concrete terms, such as a nameplate that becomes difficult to distinguish against the background. Do not infer frame rate or hardware requirements from promotional images.

A useful compatibility report

Record the Forever build, operating system, input device, and add-on version where relevant. Explain one task you attempted, the exact control or setting used, and the result. A screenshot of the menu plus a short sequence of steps is more useful than a broad “works” or “broken” label.

HELP IMPROVE THIS FOREVER REFERENCE

Evidence still needed

Actual menu paths for display and UI settings; Cooldown manager availability by Forever build; Controller targeting and menu navigation; Text scaling and readability examples; Add-on compatibility with exact versions

Record the Forever build, observation date, and a source or screenshot. Update the article and remove only the tasks your evidence resolves.
