Reviewed 17 September 2026. Developer plans explain the approach to discovery. This wiki has not independently tested hidden item data or extracted the Forever client for this article.

Discovering equipment

Josh Greenfield described hiding item stats until an item is discovered on the server, and withholding initial dungeon-journal guidance. He also stressed that classes and content can change.[1]

He envisaged smaller power increases between tiers and equipment useful for particular enemies or environments.[1]

These statements describe design intent. They do not establish that all data is inaccessible, that a model corresponds to an obtainable item, or that one equipment setup is best.

Reading the wiki's equipment evidence

Use Items to find the reference, then check its source and game version before relying on it. The following distinctions help when an article has only partial evidence:

Evidence available What to check next
Named item in an announcement Find a full tooltip before filling its numeric fields.
Datamined model or record Confirm the Forever build and identify whether the item is obtainable.
Tooltip screenshot Record rank, level, equipment, and active effects that could influence displayed values.
Observed drop Identify the encounter and conditions; one drop cannot establish its probability.
Proposed best-in-slot list Look for a stated comparison method and verified values for the activity it covers.

For an encounter guide, explain what was observed and what players did in response. Keep an untested strategy visibly separate from a successful attempt, and retain the build number when a later update changes the result.

HELP IMPROVE THIS FOREVER REFERENCE

Evidence still needed

Observed item-discovery behavior with exact build; Full item tooltips and acquisition records; Controlled tests of environment-specific effects; Encounter observations tied to a recorded attempt

Record the Forever build, observation date, and a source or screenshot. Update the article and remove only the tasks your evidence resolves.
