Skyborne starting guide

Source: View source Version: Forever beta written guide and quest database; capture builds unreported Review: Source checked Last reviewed: 2026-10-10

Skyborne starting guide connects the independently read quest records on Zephras Isle with written departure and return-travel evidence. This is a source-based route reference, not a complete playtested 1–12 walkthrough. See Skyborne for the race and faction choices.

First grove segments

The original records establish the following displayed series. A series display identifies related steps; it does not reveal every acceptance flag, optional breadcrumb or class branch.

Segment	Inspected steps	Scope
Introduction	Coming of Age → Harmony in Balance	Speak to Rorian, then the Vuldren objective; see individual records for exact counters and rewards.
Grove investigation	Elemental Unrest → Agitators → Return to Rorian; Aetheen of the Gales (quest); Foul Matriarch → The Next Step	The series includes both conversation waypoints; their arrangement does not prove a single compulsory sequence.
Cirrusflies	Infestation Investigation; The Cirrusfly Queen	Both objectives are verified separately. The inspected records do not establish a mandatory prerequisite arrow between them.
Village introduction	Welcome to Shen'dar Village	This article documents the inspected High Order variant, not every faction variant.
Historical event fix	A Firm Response	September 21 developer report; no current-build event retest is claimed.

Useful inspected rewards and class steps

• The Problem With Prideclaws — Simple Leather Satchel.
• Speak with Belann → Boughs in the Wind — Windbough Wand.
• Call of Earth (Skyborne) — the inspected Rough Quartz delivery and Earth Totem reward step.
• Call of Fire (Skyborne) — the mask and timed ritual steps, including Totem of Charged Flames.
• Meddlesome Mages — current reward availability is disputed; check the class-relic articles before planning around it.

These links come from separate original records. They do not make every listed quest mandatory for every character.

Leaving the island: distinct faction series

Step	High Order record	Windshaper record
Confrontation	Confront Lorthuna 93835	Confront Lorthuna 92646
Report in Valanaar	The Fate of Zephras 94369	The Fate of Zephras 93836
Departure conversation	What Comes Next 93089, Elaadrin	What Comes Next 93090, Ayessa
First destination	The Magical City of Dalaran 94946	The Earthen Ring (Skyborne quest) 95349
Capital arrival	Welcome to Azeroth 94947, Stormwind	Welcome to Azeroth 95350, Orgrimmar
Wider introduction	Exploring the Alliance 93963	Exploring the Horde 93739

The individual articles cite each original series and objective. IDs preserve the two variants; shared quest names do not merge their destinations or reputation rewards. Dalaran city arrival is separate from dungeon entry.

Boat travel and return access

Wowhead's written beta guide reports two skycutter routes, usable by both factions, arriving roughly every five minutes. This is a reported interval, not a measured timetable. It distinguishes purchased Skyborne character/starting-quest access from visiting the island without that purchase.

Direction	Reported boarding point	Coordinates on the named map
Zephras → Dalaran	Easternmost Valanaar dock	Zephras Isle 65.9, 83.5
Dalaran → Zephras	Northern Dalaran	Dalaran 12.5, 51.8
Zephras → Mulgore	Westernmost Valanaar dock	Zephras Isle 57.9, 80.9
Mulgore → Zephras	Cliffs south of Skywatcher Plateau	Mulgore 34.3, 25.8

The guide supplies the coordinates and reverse routes. The wiki has not retested them in an identified client build. Quest departure instructions do not establish universal portal access or every character's flight-path unlocks.

Images and route limits

The inspected quest-window images remain on Harmony in Balance and Infestation Investigation. The scenic image on Zephras Isle is a promotional view, not a navigation map. No other expansion's Skywall map is used here.

Missing pieces include all intermediate quest prerequisites, faction divergence flags, class-specific eligibility and a continuously verified route between the grove and final confrontation. Follow the quests actually accepted in your Forever log.
