A short walkthrough of turning a source into an article with useful, supported fields.
Fictional training example
The “Training Lantern,” its details, and its evidence below are invented for this tutorial. They are not Forever game information. This help page does not create an item record or belong to a game-data category.
1. Read the evidence first
Imagine a fictional practice note that says: “Training Lantern is a held item with item level 12, described in the training build.” The note says nothing about required level, item quality, or where to obtain it.
The supported details are the name, type, item level, and stated build. Required level, quality, and location stay empty. Do not turn a missing level into zero or invent a source URL.
For a real contribution, use the original announcement, documentation, or a reproducible in-game observation. Follow the source-checking steps.
2. Map the evidence to a form
On a real subject, search first, then choose the item form if no page exists. This table demonstrates the form fields; do not submit the fictional example to the live database.

On a real article, a contributor who has compared the page with its genuine source can choose Source checked. That status does not mean the behavior has been tested in the game.
3. Write a useful introduction
A reference page also needs prose. Explain what the object is, which details are known, and which questions remain. Put source citations beside the claims they support.
Here is a source-editing example. It is displayed as code and does not create a template or category on this help page. The example.org address is a formatting placeholder, not evidence; replace it with a real source before using this pattern for a real subject.

In the visual editor, write the same introduction and use the citation tool. You do not need to copy wiki markup when using the form and visual editor.
4. Preview, check, and save
For a real article, check that the information box agrees with the prose, the source link opens the intended reference, and unknown values remain blank. Check related-page names before saving.
Use an edit summary such as “Add item level from the linked announcement; required level not recorded.” The page will enter the item index through its template. A short delay while the index updates is normal.
5. Update the evidence when facts change
Use Edit with form to update a structured value and the article text together. Add the newer source and state which version the revised fields describe. Explain a conflict on the talk page and choose Needs review when it is unresolved.
