Support reference. The platform requirements below were checked on 17 September 2026; the separate GPU compatibility notice was reviewed on 20 September. These are published specifications, not benchmarks. Recheck Blizzard's page before changing hardware.

System requirements help you prepare a computer for World of Warcraft: Forever. The following summary comes from both platform tabs of Blizzard Support article 386366.[1]

Windows

Component Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10, 64-bit, May 2019 update or newer Windows 11
CPU Four cores, 3.0 GHz; Intel Haswell / AMD Ryzen Zen Eight performance cores, 5.2 GHz boost; Intel Core Ultra Series 2 / AMD Ryzen Zen 5
GPU DirectX 12, 4 GB; GeForce GTX 10 series / AMD RDNA 1 / Intel Iris Xe2-LPG Lunar Lake DirectX 12, 8 GB; GeForce RTX 40 series / AMD RDNA 3 / Intel Arc B-Series
RAM 8 GB 16 GB
Free SSD space 128 GB 128 GB

Mac

Blizzard lists macOS 12, Apple M2 or ninth-generation Intel Coffee Lake, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB free SSD space as minimums. Its recommended configuration lists macOS 15, Apple M4, and 16 GB RAM. The GPU row mixes Metal, chip, and memory wording; consult the original table for that qualification.[1]

GPU compatibility floor

Blizzard's 17 September notice identifies three oldest supported graphics architectures: AMD Graphics Core Next 1, NVIDIA Maxwell, and Intel Skylake. It connects this restriction to the new renderer's RGBA16F UAV support in compute shaders.[2]

Architecture compatibility alone does not meet the game's minimum specifications. Blizzard lists the GTX 750/750 Ti and Intel HD Graphics 530 as compatible examples below its minimum requirements; the GTX 760/770/780 and Intel HD Graphics 6000 are unsupported examples. A larger model number therefore does not establish support.[2] Compare your exact GPU with both this notice and the full requirements above.

On Windows, check the adapter name under Device Manager → Display adapters, or Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.[2] For dated beta crash reports and their evidence limits, see Beta known issues.

Prepare your installation

Use Game access to check account eligibility. After installation, User interface and accessibility explains announced display and control options. A visual preset is not evidence that an unsupported computer becomes supported, and minimum specifications do not promise a particular frame rate.
