World of Warcraft: Forever is a permanent WoW game currently in beta alongside modern WoW and WoW Classic. Its setting follows Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and precedes Molten Core, with a level-60 journey through the original continents.[1]
Release status
The beta is live; use Beta guide for its testing scope and Beta known issues for current source notes. [2]
Blizzard's access announcement lists launch on 4 November 2026 and beta beginning 17 September 2026.[3] See the Beginner guide for the beta window and access requirements.
What kind of experience is planned?
Blizzard describes a focus on leveling, exploration, and cooperation. Announced choices include no flying mounts or level scaling, optional transmog, Classic and modern visual presets, and gamepad support.[4]
Explore the reference
- New places: Riverglades and Zephras Isle.
- Dungeon preview: Hall of Thanes, with its Ironforge location reference.
- Quest-reward examples: Ladimore Heirloom Ring and Master Hunter's Spellsword. Follow their linked character and zone pages to see the documented context.
Start with Guides, Changes from Classic, Classes, and Races, then explore Camping and the Legacy system. Articles identify the evidence behind each announcement or preview detail. Browse Items, Zones, NPCs, and Dungeons for the growing database. The quest index is waiting for sources that establish exact quest names and objectives.
Questions for a first character
- Where should I start?
- Read Game access and System requirements, then follow the Beginner guide. Release roadmap keeps launch milestones together.
- What should my group agree on?
- Compare Realmless rulesets, Race and class combinations, and the nine class guides before planning characters together.
- How do I understand the new progression systems?
- Camping explains campsite contributions, while Legacy system explains account progression and character perk choices. Icy Veins' Forever overview is useful introductory reading for these topics; the linked wiki references show their evidence and remaining uncertainties.
- Do the class guides establish the strongest build?
- They explain recorded abilities and interactions. A preview tooltip can help you understand a choice, but it does not prove a final damage ranking, optimal rotation, or best race.
