Beta changes
Latest developer updates
- October 6 maintenance notice and later issue updates.
- October 1 development notes. The earlier maintenance announcement is retained separately.
- September 28, Kyle quest-line request: responding to a request to restore the Mulgore quest line, Kaivax said work was underway. No implementation date or confirmation that it is playable accompanied that reply. See the later update for subsequent changes.[1]
- September 28 gold-trading clarification: Blizzard's beta account-action statement.
- September 27 queue correction: Blizzard reported fixing a fault that filled the login queue. This does not guarantee immediate access or resolve every connection problem.
- September 25 stability notice: read the dated restart announcement and its limits.
- September 24 beta update: selected changes and a direct link to Blizzard's complete written notes.
- September 24 known-issue review: newly listed issues and specifically identified resolutions.
- September 23 Auto Shot and wand notice: intended cast time and a planned correction, without a confirmed delivery build.
- September 22 client update: build 1.60.1.69977 and its published changes.
- September 21 quest correction: Blizzard reported successful completions after fixing the stalled event.
- Character lockouts: the September 22 reporting guidance explains which details Blizzard requested.
These entries retain the distinction between developer reports and independent testing. The dated source pages preserve the scope of each statement.
October 8 source review
See Beta update (October 1, 2026) for the later development notes, Beta maintenance (October 6, 2026) for the subsequent notice, and Beta known issues for dated follow-ups. The earlier maintenance announcement remains historical.
New references cover PvP progression, Darkspear Islands and Excavation Site: Wetlands quests. Project:Talent data tracks the refreshed licensed snapshot; Datamined data records the separate client audit. Their review dates do not announce a game patch.
Beta launch and testing
Blizzard announced the beta live on 17 September 2026.[2] Start with Beta guide for playable scope and installation, Game access for eligibility, and Beta known issues before testing a class.
The known-issue review preserves the September 18 list alongside the September 24 follow-up. A later explicit correction can supersede an older entry; a newer build number alone does not establish that a bug is resolved.
October 1 source review
Twelve reported Hall of Thanes loot items now have individual tooltip articles. Campfire kits and recipes distinguish use requirements from Blueprint fields.
Five talent-access annotations changed in the licensed source. The talent effects and tree positions did not change; these annotations are the source author's interpretation, not new game patch notes. The dated client check still identifies build 70124.
September 30 source review
Build 70124's archived exports contain one added icon-manifest ID; the other 609 downloaded tables match build 70009. At that check, the licensed talent export was unchanged. These are source comparisons, not new official patch notes or proof that server behavior is unchanged.
New curated references cover Unending Torment and other Ruins of Lordaeron quests, their equipment choices, food and kill-experience tooltips, and the Statistics pane. They fill wiki coverage gaps without claiming that these features were introduced on the review date.
Beta talent data
The September 27 review contains 466 active class talents from the licensed build 70009 export. The 21 named Legacy perks retain their section-specific build 69876. These are separately labelled source snapshots. Project:Talent data records the exact snapshot, build, rank evidence, and coverage. Earlier demo descriptions remain historical evidence where a record has been removed or replaced.
September 27 written-source review
That review updated the licensed reference to 3,187 records, including all 1,754 beta-labelled spells and 1,318 talent ranks. Primal Bite and Blood Frenzy replace the old Druid names; two removed Paladin talent pages remain historical. The affected class guides, all nine level 1–20 spellbooks, Gnome and Undead racials have updated source notes.[3]
The client-table comparison separately records changes in the downloaded build 70009 exports. The older database pages retain their original build; raw rows do not establish current availability. Elwynn Forest book quests brings together eight individually sourced quest references.
September 23 written-source review
The licensed export generated September 20 adds 21 Rogue poison-crafting records and corrects the caster/melee proc percentages recorded for Touch of the Grave. Spearing Strike, Holy Shield, and Mutilate now retain their source-listed weapon requirements. The level 1–20 spellbook selection then contained 387 rank records. These are data-reference corrections, not a claim that Blizzard changed those abilities on the wiki review date.[4]
The Hall of Thanes reference now links five written-source quest pages, starting with Underground Map. Their objectives and listed rewards remain distinct from player-reported pickup routes and unresolved requirements. Character names and Realmless rulesets incorporate Blizzard's September 21 articles.
September 20 source review
The 19 September Talents Forever export corrects the recorded Resourcefulness trigger chances to 30%/60%, Lightning Reflexes Agility ranks to 3%/6%/9%/12%/15% (superseded by the later build 70009 record), and Cultivation to include a 1-hour cooldown. These are source-snapshot corrections; no new game hotfix is inferred.[5]
The initial spell references covered 385 beta-tagged rank records with source-listed learning levels 1–20. They exclude Classic fallback text, demo General-tab records, talents, and records marked for alternative acquisition. Tooltips retain the source’s level-60 reference context.
Announcement corrections
15 September 2026: Krol'dok Stronghold's announced range was corrected to 40–45.[6] This corrects the published preview information; it is not a tested gameplay hotfix.
Datamining reports
16 September 2026: Wowhead published Forever map previews and provisional reputation names.[7][8] See World maps and Factions for inspected assets, attribution, and unanswered questions. Datamined previews explains the limits of the gear and creature reports, including mixed-edition set data. These are reports about client data, not a tested gameplay change log.
Research record
The latest additions expand Recipes, Items, and Quests. These are source reviews and reference images, with evidence limits recorded on each article; they do not announce new game changes.
The continuation adds campsite item descriptions and more armor-kit and workspace recipe records. Camping links the supporting articles. Coming of Age, Elemental Unrest and The Cirrusfly Queen now have timestamped video evidence. The GPU compatibility explanation includes Blizzard's separate renderer notice; the older platform-table review date is retained.

Game build and hotfix log
The source import and official issue notes do not amount to an independent in-game test. The developer updates above report delivered fixes within their stated scope; they do not resolve every earlier issue. A wiki content expansion is not a game patch. Each future change should record:
- Build and date: the affected game version and the announcement or test date.
- Before → after: the exact field or behavior changed, with both sources when available.
- Affected pages: the class, talent, quest, recipe, item, or location references needing updates.
- Evidence: an official patch note or a reproducible observation, with disagreement preserved if sources conflict.
For a reported correction, edit the affected article first, preserve its historical evidence, then link the completed change here. Do not replace an unknown value with an extrapolation from another edition.
